''CHARMING HAMLET'' Charming 17th century small house
This self-contained 17th century family home has been beautifully restored to a high standard. To get to the front door you have to climb up some ancient stone steps. In this hamlet there are only 5 houses with friendly local neighbours, access is completely hidden away from the main road so explanations on how to get there have to be given. A perfectly private and secure place to spend your holiday.
Honeycombed stoned walls greet you as you arrive into a small gravelled parking area. This self-contained wing is completely shut away where you can relax have a glass of wine on our south facing terrace and look forward to the days ahead.
Main Floor
Self-contained fully equipped kitchen/dining area: Microwave, washing machine, fridge, cooker, television (BBC Sky viewing) if needed, wood stove. Dining area leads off into a small sitting room with sofa bed and mezzanine with a single bed. Door leading onto terrace.
Upstairs
Wooden staircase leads up to large double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, lavatory, built in power shower beautiful view of vineyards and valley.
Nearest village
Uzes is a delightful 10 minutes (5 miles) drive awaya beautiful mediaeval town with narrow streets inviting visitors to soak up the friendly atmosphere. It has a number of excellent restaurants, an abundance of pavement cafes, good shops of all kinds and a splendid colourful saturday market that spills into the streets surrounding the central market place. People flock in from miles around. A smaller market is held on Wednesday mornings that sells only local produce and is altogether calmer. The local tourist office can provide information in English about events that are taking place in and around Uzes, particularly in August.
Activities
For young children there is an aquatic park at Bouscarasse, 8 miles away and wonderful swimming in the shallow, gently flowing River Gardon at Collias Nimes, Avignon, Arles, Orange, and the renowned Roman Pont du Gard are within easy distance. The Camargue and some Mediterranean beaches (St. Maries de la Mer) can be reached in about 45 minutes. The excellent River Gardon, just 5 miles from the house along country roads, also offers canoeing and kayaking. One can actually canoe (or float, if you prefer!) downstream to the Pont du Gard and look up at this amazing structure dating from 20 B.C. There are peaceful places along the river to stop for a picnic or a days fishing, and don't worry about the return journey upstream a coach will collect you and take you back to Collias in comfort.

Included in the rental price are therefore:
Greeting and introduction to the house on arrival by our agent. Electricity and heating. Cleaning after departure.
No babies or toddlers or pets.
The only extras are:
* Rental of bed linen, £12 per set. Rental of towels, £4 per person (no swimming towels provided). * Single charge of £40 to cover our agent's meeting and greeting plus cleaning on departure. * Telephone as per One Tel bill usually available within 2-3 weeks after depature.
Arrival / Departure :
* Arrival on Saturday, between 4.30 pm and 7.00 pm. * Departure on Saturday not later than 10.00 am.
* 25% within one week of making the booking – the rental is confirmed when the payment is received * 75% a full 30 days before arrival
Cancellations
* If cancellation is made more than one month before arrival date, the 25% down payment is forfeit. * If cancellation is made less than one month before arrival date, the further 75% rental paid is forfeit.
